"THE RIFLEMANS RIFLE" ist wohl das Buch schlechthin zu Deinem Thema.
Hier eine Buchbesprechung:
THE RIFLEMAN'S RIFLE
Winchester's Model 70 bolt-action rifle is certainly a classic among fine sporting arms. However, among those who savor the lines and feel of this grand old rifle, the ''Pre-'64'' Winchester Model 70 -- those produced from 1936 until 1963 -- are the guns that are sought after most and held in highest regard. Now in its second printing of a limited-edition run of 2,500 copies, The Rifleman's Rifle, by Roger C. Rule, tells the complete story of the Pre-'64 Model 70. Originally published in 1982, this in-depth study is considered the definitive work on this rifle, and is authorized by Winchester (both Olin Corp. and U.S. Repeating Arms Co.). The new 8-1/2x11 inch hardcover volume runs 368 pages and contains over 500 photographs -- many in full color.
Like the coveted first edition, this new publication is a compilation of information gathered from a number of firsthand sources. There are interviews with 16 key Winchester factory managers during the Model 70's production, as well as data gathered from company blueprints, shipping records, catalogs from every year and other sources dealing with both the Model 70 and its predecessor, the Model 54. Complete chapters have been devoted to the Model 70's various styles, its many chamberings, model changes, research and development, and actual production -- including annual serial numbers for each year. In short, this volume is the most complete reference work published on the Winchester Model 70.
