A PH who's working in SA mentioned rhino bullets in one of his posts in a american forum and today I came across an article about those bullets.
The ideal hunting bullet would retain nearly all its weight, mushroom to the perfect diameter and penetrate deeply, and track straight through the game. Rhino bullets were developed by hunters for PH in Africa who simply can't afford bullet failure. Hunts are too expensive to risk lost trophies, and bullet failure on dangerous game is never an acceptable option.Rhino Bullets are perfectly matched to the american market where ever-increasing cartridge capabilities cause a high percentage of other bullets to fail under field conditions. The solid shanks, jackets that are extra thick and designed by caliber and bonded cores of Rhino Bullets ensure that properly placed hits will anchor the game.Rhino Bullets are very competitively priced among premium bonded- core bullets. An added plus is superb accuracy. Rhino Bullets with moly coating will be available in .257 100 and 110 grain, .270 130 and 150 grain, 7mm 150 and 170 grain, .308 180 grain, .303 215 grain, 8mm 200 grain, .338 250 grain, 9.3 250 and 286 grain, .375 350 and 380 grain, .45-70 360 grain.
The above mentioned PH is using a 9.3x62 as his bread and butter rifle and described the performance of the 250 and 286 grain bullets as devastating. Because I'm using the venerable 9.3x62 myself I'm going to load those bullets just to find out whether they'll be equal or even better than the 286 grain TUG.
